Unable to unzip a file created with maven assembly plugin using JDK 1.6

I've a pom with:

and I want to unzip the zip file with JDK 1.6. I've an exception...
If I open the zip file with 7zip I can see that OS host is set to linux even if
I'm on windows.
When I do mvn package in debug mode I can see that the file encoding is set to
null...
Is this a plexus archiver mistake or a bug?
