Maarten Billemont commented on MWAR-18:
---------------------------------------
The "targetPath" feature you talk about is not in maven-war-plugin; it is a
patch that has not been applied (your sentence is somewhat
misleading/confusing: he doesn't talk about zip dependencies; and overlay
definately isn't a "feature" you can currently apply on zip overlays).
Either apply the patch and close this bug as fixed; or don't apply the patch
and close the bug as won't fix.
Currently; the only way I see this happening is with a zip overlay; which is a
horribly messy workaround.

> Need to be able to declare maven dependencies as resources within WARs.
> Currently all dependencies are placed within WEB-INF/lib.
> Typical use-case is for a war project to pull in an applet from the repo to
> be included in the package. Would need to specify the whereabouts of the
> applet in the WAR.
