Kristian Rosenvold commented on SUREFIRE-814:
---------------------------------------------

There is activity in junit (https://github.com/junit-team/junit/pull/617) to
actually
create a better implementation of ParallelComputer, which should the
issues you're seeing.

The implementation in surefire should hopefully be deprecated (and removed) in
favour of this implementation. I see there's some discussion over at junit as
to /where/ this implementation should actually go. Since the implementation is
a private issue inside surefire, we should consider asking @tibor17 to submit
it to surefire while he's trying to
get it accepted elsewhere.

I dont think there's much future in the current ParallelComputer and *I* will
not be fixing this issue. If someone else decides to do this, fine - I'll
review the patch :)

Until someone comes up with an acceptable solution for capturing console output
in "both" mode, this flaw will remain, regardless of which ParallelComputer is
used.
