first line of the [web site for predefined
descriptors|http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/descriptor-refs.html]:

reuse, **packaged within the Assembly Plugin**, instead of the original three.
This means in other words they are part of the maven-assembly-plugin itself.
