Kenney Westerhof commented on MASSEMBLY-697:
--------------------------------------------

Hi Karl-Heinz,

Thank you for responding!

Whether the documentation is correct depends on your definition of 'project'.
In my definition, the project archive or artifact is part of the project.
Without it, there's no project to use anything. But I agree that the
documentation is subject to interpretation.

I should have made it more clear that my issue is NOT with the documentation,
but with the functionality regarding the repository construction code. Changing
a few words on a website doesn't help me out here. ;-)

If I make a standard assembly, say, a zip, the project archive _is_ included
(depending ofcourse on my settings, but at least it's _possible_). This is
somewhat inconsistent in my view: the assembly descriptors for zip etc. allow
to specify any custom directory structure to include _all_ project artifacts,
whereas the repository format descriptor does not.

I'll update the issue to better reflect my meaning. Thanks for pointing this
out!

> The example on

> does not produce the advertised results, as it copies the pom into the
> repository archive, but omits the project .jar.
