So either we fix the link to the correct location:
http://maven.apache.org/plugins-archives/maven-archetype-plugin-1.0-alpha-7/index.html
or we just remove the hint about backward compatibility. From my point of view
currently we have 2.X and i think we should drop compatibility with 1.X which
means the whole paragraph can be removed.
