@merrimanr The previous commits should also (hopefully) resolve the issues
with `source.type` vs `source:type`. Given that there were issues with the
tests and test schemas themselves I haven't added any new tests, but if we see
it in full-dev still, we'll need to make sure we either add tests or fix any
remaining issues in the current tests, depending on what the exact details are.
