Peter Kimberley commented on NIFI-1561:
---------------------------------------

I've found that while the {{Endpoint Override URL}} enables NiFi to reach a
custom S3 server, the target S3 service needs to have a region set to a valid
AWS region ID. If not, NiFi throws an error saying "attribute contains an
invalid region value".

It would be helpful for a custom S3 region to be specified in NiFi - for those
users who leverage non-AWS S3 services.

> FetchS3Object should support non-AWS S3 locations

> FetchS3Object currently only supports AWS as a source, however, some NiFI
> enterprise user have the interest to fetch files from S3 compatible APIs
> (e.g. RIAK, OpenStack SWIFT)
