# Summary [NIFI-13357](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-13357) Removes the `APP_INSTALLATION_TOKEN` Authentication option from the `GitHubFlowRegistryClient` in favor of the `APP_INSTALLATION` option implemented in [NIFI-13231](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-13231). The `APP_INSTALLATION_TOKEN` option required external token provision to produce and sign a JWT with a short expiration, which was not optimal for long-lived access to GitHub repositories. The new `APP_INSTALLATION` option integrates App Installation Token provision using a configured App ID and Private Key, supporting long-lived service-based access. As the initial version was released in NiFi 2.0.0-M3, this is a breaking change, but the impact should be minimal based on the expiration issues with external token provisioning. # Tracking Please complete the following tracking steps prior to pull request creation. ### Issue Tracking - [X] [Apache NiFi Jira](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI) issue created ### Pull Request Tracking - [X] Pull Request title starts with Apache NiFi Jira issue number, such as `NIFI-00000` - [X] Pull Request commit message starts with Apache NiFi Jira issue number, as such `NIFI-00000` ### Pull Request Formatting - [X] Pull Request based on current revision of the `main` branch - [X] Pull Request refers to a feature branch with one commit containing changes # Verification Please indicate the verification steps performed prior to pull request creation. ### Build - [X] Build completed using `mvn clean install -P contrib-check` - [X] JDK 21 ### UI Contributions - [ ] NiFi is modernizing its UI.
