Hi David, I think this is following multiple complaints/feedback that we saw in
Slack (it does not seem to be in the history anymore though) regarding the
current File-based implementation where you need to have one file per parameter
value which is not super user friendly. That would also make it easier for
people that were used to the "Variable Registry as a file" that exists in NiFi
1.x and has been removed in 2.x.
