Apache Kafka Client libraries depend on the {{lz4-java}} library version 1.8.0,
which is no longer maintained. The [current
fork|https://github.com/yawkat/lz4-java] provides a compatible upgrade,
addressing security vulnerabilities and published to Maven Central.
