I'm not a techie so I will describe this as best I can. I have 3.4.1 - recently upgraded from previous version. I am running XP Pro SP 3, 3 Ghz P4, 2.5 Gb RAM. When I open any OOo document things run well briefly. Then in Task Manager I spike to 100%. Opening TM shows soffice.bin is drawing on the processor 97% to 99%. This will continue even if I quit OOo. I have to manually end soffice.bin which then releases it's stranglehold on the processor, returning all running programs back to normal. When trying to work with a spreadsheet everything runs slowly, updating somewhat reluctantly. I have not lost work yet and docs seem to save okay. This happens with OOo documents or MS documents. I have had instances where things don't act up while the document is open, but soffice.bin will kick in after closing OOo. Again, I have to manually end soffice.bin to be able to continue to work without the slow down this causes.
