ODS? XLS? Something else? Was there anything unusual about your password? Unusual length? Non-ASCII or other special characters? You say that after a few tries you were able to open the one file. Was the password that worked different from the one you originally entered? Also, when it fails, is this from the same machine, with the same keyboard? Finally, watch out for common password issues: 1) Caplocks enabled 2) Keyboard keycaps misplaced (Believe it or not, this is an old office prank. Exchange two keys on keyboard. When user is touch typing they automatically press the correct keys.
