            Bug ID: 123222
        Issue Type: DEFECT
           Summary: Auto-recovery blocks editing
           Product: General
           Version: 4.0.0
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: ui
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

I have auto-recovery activated; this is a very useful feature if open office
and/or my computer crashes. The problem is that the process often starts up
mid-edit, which can either mess up a train of thought, mess up the edit, or in
some cases, actually cause open office to crash. Might it be possible to make
auto-recovery kick in after the pre-set time AND after a nominal idle time, say
3 seconds? Then, if there is no such lull in editing for say, 5 minutes beyond
the pre-set time, a warning could flash up to say some thing to the effect of
'auto-recovery is due to commence, would you like to postpone?'
