This is not a bug, and all you told in your comment is well known.
Auto Number Recognition is a very old issue, as old as Spreadshhets itself, it
will be impossible to beet all users needs. Please ask for help for your
problem

There are lots of possibilities how to paste IP-Addresses as text.
Currently I think that much more users want this auto recognition for pasting
numbers with thousands separator than users who need to paste IP-addresses. But
as I told you, if you have a good idea for a new feature in number recognition
what extends the existing possibilities please do not hesitate to
