Just checked with current AOO version, in Draw/Impress, Calc and writer.
Draw/Impress and Calc keep the original jpeg when loading a linked jpeg and
breaking the link, then saving, thus all works as intended, no error here.
Writer indeed saves a png with a bigger size, this seems to be an error. This
may indicate an error with breaking links with the writer graphic object.
Tried with a linked jpeg created in Draw, copied to Writer, break link, save ->
stays the original jpeg. This hardens the suggestion that writer's graphic
object/frame does not behave well when breaking links...
