But, can be fixed. See my original submission.
I am not a software expert but here is a suggestion: if the user-parameters
file was closed immediately after OO loads, and reopened --for updating-- only
when the session closes normally, then it would not get damaged by a power
failure. The old parameters (options, recent documents, ...) would still be
available when restarting OO after power is restored.
