Some further research shows that the problem seems to be related to the fact
that the different file types are associated with different applications:
* document.odt with swriter.exe
* document.ods with scalc.exe
(e) After I have had associated these 2 file types with soffice.exe
(manually in WIN System Settings) the problem does no longer exist,
I can open both documents from WIN7 explorer simultaneously
without the reported effect.
(f) reported problem reappeared after I changed back association.
(g) I wonder why the reported problem does not exist in OS file open dialog
I am not sure whether this one should be seen as Enhancement request or DEFECT,
tending to ENHANCEMENT. Might be a necessary compromise to get different icons
to the file types or whatever. But may be it is possible to associate different
documents all to soffice.exe (more tests whether that can cause problems will
be required), but to show different icons in explorer, nevertheless?
