Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
Avast: 2014.9.0.2021

The installation of openoffice stops and says it is unable to modify files that
are being used by the Avast system service.

Going into the avast icon on the taskbar and selecting TEMPORARILY DISABLE [for
10 mins/until restart etc] did not allow the installation to complete.

Instead it was necessary to disable the ENTIRE AVAST SERVICE completely. This
was done via the task manager - clicking on services and then finding "avast!
Antivirus" and then right clicking and stop service. A little tricky for most
users.

Once the avast service was disabled clicking retry on the Openoffice
installation program then allowed installation to complete normally.

Most users may struggle to be able to do this.....
