Currently you will do this using a "DDE field". The DDE statement works with
cell names too. What is the problem?

If you are unsure about the DDE Statement, goto the spreadsheet, copy the cell
and insert it in Writer as "DDE link". You will get a one cell table, which you
can delete later on. But now in Insert > Fields > Others > Variables you have
got the DDE Statement and you can insert a 'DDE field'.

Charts are a different problem, because a chart itself is already an OLE
object. Currently the data for a chart can only be from the document were it is
embedded.
