The only way to recover the data is if the sheets are still in the file. Open the file. On the menu look at Format > Sheet and see if Show ... is selectable. If it is, select Show ... and change the sheets on the list from hidden to visible. If you are able to recover, please create a procedure where you retain one or two backups of the previous changes so that you can recover a failed update of the workbook.
