I think the correct way forward with this is to change Writers: 1.9.0 writes should only write fully encrypted pages Readers 1.9.0 should accept files written by 1.8 and earlier (so read not-fully encrypted pages) 1.9.0 should read fully encrypted pages Then whenever we get to a more serious version bump we drop the ability to read the legacy encrypted files. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
