I think what Julian actually meant, was that not all drivers support
subscriptions. We were thinking of adding a layer to the drivers to simulate
subscriptions via polling in the background. [~julian.feinauer] please correct
me if I'm wrong.
If that's what he meant, then this issue is still valid as we haven't done any
work on this.
