Thanks for sharing the details! Sorry I miss this part when playing with `sdist` that installing from source distribution will still trigger the custom build script. Installing through `whl` will not trigger it though. I will see if we can skip the build script when installing from the `sdist`, otherwise we could provide platform-agnostic wheels to remove JRE dependency during pip installation. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
