Thanks for the clarification — that helps, and I agree that treating this initially as a metadata-only capability makes the most sense, especially given the breadth of potential CDC sources. Since this touches core catalog semantics (whether and how non-Iceberg sources are represented), I think it would be good to get guidance from the Polaris maintainers on the intended scope and direction before exploring implementation.
