## What changes were proposed in this pull request? This pull request rebases the gRPC zero-copy work from RATIS-1931_grpc-zero-copy onto the latest master. The replayed changes include the gRPC zero-copy implementation and related follow-up fixes, while resolving compatibility conflicts with the current master branch.
