In #561 we implemented read support for Geometry/Geography Parquet types. This was easy to do because we already had a copy of the `ParquetMetadata` that we had been using for GeoParquet 1.1 pruning and GeoParquet key/value metadata; however, on the write side the knob we need to turn on Parquet Geometry/Geography support is not exposed until Arrow 57.1 (i.e., DataFusion 52). Without this knob, the workaround would be to copy the entire DataFusion Parquet writer and I think we don't want to do that before our 0.3.0 release. Because we also don't want to update to DataFusion 52 until after the 0.3.0 release, I think we should defer this until we've created the release branch. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
