Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-15932: ------------------------------------ I think it is less intrusive if we keep {{solr.log}} as the current log file - lots of tools will rely on that. And then on a new day, roll it over and start a new solr.log. Should we ask log4j to gzip it too? {{solr-2022-05-04.log.gz}} I can attempt to setup such a configuration, and make days-to-keep configurable. > Make max logfile size and number of files to keep configurable as sysprops > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SOLR-15932 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-15932 > Project: Solr > Issue Type: Improvement > Security Level: Public(Default Security Level. Issues are Public) > Reporter: Jan Høydahl > Priority: Major > Time Spent: 10m > Remaining Estimate: 0h > > Today you have to edit log4j config file or create your own to tailor how > much solr logs you want to retain. This Jira will make these two configurable > as system properties. > Spinoff from SOLR-14142 -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.7#820007) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: issues-unsubscr...@solr.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: issues-h...@solr.apache.org
