Joel Bernstein edited comment on SOLR-15733 at 10/21/22 7:35 PM:
-----------------------------------------------------------------

[~houston], the PR is getting closer to completion: code and tests have been
moved, tests are passing and precommit is passing.

There may be some work to get the artifact published to maven and CHANGES.txt
will need to include how and when the new solrj-streaming artifact is used.

>From a customer standpoint this is the only change they are likely to see
>going forward. If we decide to move streaming expressions into core or a
>server module in 10, we will still include a handful of TupleStream
>implementations in solrj-streaming for backcompat.

Let me know if you still have concerns with this ticket.

> The huge amount of streaming expression code under
> {{org.apache.solr.client.solrj.io}} package can be shipped as an optional
> jar. The {{solrj-jdbc}} (or {{solrj-sql}}) modules would then have a
> dependency on this...
