jebnix opened a new pull request, #1109:
URL: https://github.com/apache/solr/pull/1109

   https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-XXXXX

   <!--
   _(If you are a project committer then you may remove some/all of the
following template.)_

   Before creating a pull request, please file an issue in the ASF Jira system
for Solr:

   * https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/SOLR

   For something minor (i.e. that wouldn't be worth putting in release notes),
you can skip JIRA.
   To create a Jira issue, you will need to create an account there first.

   The title of the PR should reference the Jira issue number in the form:

   * SOLR-####: <short description of problem or changes>

   SOLR must be fully capitalized. A short description helps people scanning
pull requests for items they can work on.

   Properly referencing the issue in the title ensures that Jira is correctly
updated with code review comments and commits. -->

   # Description

   The [following
section](https://github.com/apache/solr/edit/main/solr/solr-ref-guide/modules/deployment-guide/pages/solr-in-docker.adoc#updating-from-solr-5-7-to-8)
 mentioned that the `/opt/solr/server/solr` has been replaced by
`/var/solr/data`. There are still many references to `/opt/solr/server` which
I'm not sure if they're still valid.
   I wonder about the following:
   * Is `/opt/solr/server` still in use?
   * If so, is `/opt/solr/server/solr` still in use?
   * `/opt/solr/server/solr/mycores` mentioned to no longer exist. What path /
how has it been replaced?

   # Solution

   Fixed a first-detected invalid reference. There are more. @epugh I'd like
you to review my questions and maybe we should add a `Solr and Linux' FHS` /
`Solr FS hierarchy in Linux` to clarify things.
