Piotr Karwasz commented on SOLR-17809: -------------------------------------- Hi, Based on my analysis, *CVE-2024-51504* can be exploited in *Apache Solr versions 3.4.0 through 3.8.1*, but only under specific configurations: * Solr must be running in [SolrCloud mode|https://solr.apache.org/guide/solr/latest/deployment-guide/cluster-types.html#solrcloud-mode], which uses Zookeeper. * The [embedded Zookeeper server|https://solr.apache.org/guide/solr/latest/deployment-guide/zookeeper-ensemble.html] must be used. This setup is *explicitly discouraged* for production environments, and Solr itself logs warnings when this configuration is active. While such warnings may be ignored in practice, the presence of the warning allows to reasonably conclude that *production deployments are unlikely to be affected*. * The Zookeeper Admin Server must be explicitly enabled in the `{{server/solr/zoo.cfg}}` configuration file.
