this is currently marked as fixed in 11 because I could not get the backport to
work, and it felt like I was going to make things worse, so I stopped. I did
label the PR with milestone 10, as technically it could go back there, and
maybe when smiley's script runs, then we can update this as fixed in 10 as well.
