dsmiley opened a new pull request, #4962: URL: https://github.com/apache/solr/pull/4962
🤖 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-18124 Supersedes #4216 by @gsingh-code, which was closed as stale. This keeps their commits and adds a follow-up commit, since I couldn't push to the original branch. Adds spans for transaction log replay (e.g. during recovery or startup): - `updatelog.replay` for the whole replay. Attributes: `db.instance`, `state`, number of `logs`; at the end `adds`, `deletes`, `deleteByQuery`, `errors` (from `RecoveryInfo`). Status ERROR if the replay failed or had errors. - `updatelog.replay.log` per tlog file, with `logFile` and `logSizeBytes`. Per-entry replay exceptions are recorded on it. Replay runs on an `ExecutorUtil` executor, which carries the trace context over, so these spans nest under the caller's span. With #4961, that's the `recovery` span. Changes from #4216: merged `main` (which cleared the out-of-scope file changes); reused the existing try blocks instead of nesting one; dropped the added ops counter and the `urp_chain` attribute; trimmed attributes; removed the tracing test; added a changelog entry. Tested: `TestRecovery` passes; no new test. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
