This is already supported. Set the update method to `Manual` and neither the
operator nor the StatefulSet controller will delete pods for an update — you
decide when pods restart:
```yaml
spec:
updateStrategy:
method: Manual
```
With `Managed` (the default) or `StatefulSet`, pods roll automatically once
their spec changes. The managed-updates docs cover the trade-offs and also show
how to trigger a restart on demand by bumping a podOptions annotation:
