Unfortunately, there is no Python bindings to L-BFGS yet. I'm not familiar 
enough neither with Scala nor with Java. Do you know whether somebody works on 
Python bindings for L-BFGS? I may try to do them, but it's going to be not 
earlier than the weekend after next.
