Josh Elser commented on SPARK-17445: ------------------------------------ Hi [~srowen] bq. We've discussed spark-packages.org and I think that much is OK. Do you remember the subject of this discussion or have a link to the archives? I would like to catch up here. bq. If the concern is just the error message At the moment, both are a concern to me, but I am happy to read more on what has been discussed to sway my opinion. My reasoning right now is that if the code is blindly pointing to a non-Apache Spark site and this is not OK, then, for the same reason, pointing to the same site from the Apache Spark website (without context) is also suspect. Anyways, we can certainly move forward with changing the code while I get up to speed with previous discussions on this external website. > Reference an ASF page as the main place to find third-party packages > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SPARK-17445 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-17445 > Project: Spark > Issue Type: Improvement > Reporter: Matei Zaharia > > Some comments and docs like > https://github.com/apache/spark/blob/master/sql/core/src/main/scala/org/apache/spark/sql/execution/datasources/DataSource.scala#L148-L151 > say to go to spark-packages.org, but since this is a package index > maintained by a third party, it would be better to reference an ASF page that > we can keep updated and own the URL for. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: issues-unsubscr...@spark.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: issues-h...@spark.apache.org
