{{/v2}} is both a way to try out my changes without having to change (too much)
code in core, and to hedge things so that if there's an API breakage, we can
spot it. Hopefully we'll be able to merge things back into v1 for the final
version, but it's not looking too likely at the moment. There will be plenty of
additions and some semantic changes, so it's probable we'll need v2.
