sadly (or not), i had to upgrade R to 3.5.2 on the centos
(amp-jenkins-worker-\{2..6}, and the ubuntu workers (a-j-s-w-02,
research-jenkins-*) have version 3.2.3.
worst case, i can downgrade R.
