Gabor Somogyi commented on SPARK-32001:
---------------------------------------

I've just created an example project to show how an external JDBC connection
provider would look like.
The Spark side code is not yet clean so it will take some time to file a PR but
it's on the way...

> Create Kerberos authentication provider API in JDBC connector

> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Components: Spark Core
> Affects Versions: 3.1.0

> Priority: Major
>
> Adding embedded provider to all the possible databases would generate high
> maintenance cost on Spark side.
> Instead an API can be introduced which would allow to implement further
> providers independently.
> One important requirement what I suggest is: JDBC connection providers must
> be loaded independently just like delegation token providers.
