Ruifeng Zheng commented on SPARK-43351:
---------------------------------------

Thanks for starting this work. But before we go ahead, I think we should reach
to consensus on some questions, since Golang is a new language for Apache Spark:

1, Golang
1.1, repo: reuse existing spark repo, or add a dedicated repo (e.g.
apache/spark-go?)
1.2, env: Golang version, dependency
1.3, release: how to release?
1.4, document: examples, api references
1.5, github action: linter, tests, backwards compatibility
1.6, reviewer: which committers are good at Golang?

2, Go-client for Spark Connect
the scope and the plan, which module do we want to support? (dataframe API,
streaming, repl, go-udf, etc)
