Hyukjin Kwon created SPARK-61053:
------------------------------------
Summary: Take the arguments of overwrite, partitionedBy and
tableProperty of DataFrameWriterV2 in the Python client as PySpark does
Key: SPARK-61053
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-61053
Project: Spark
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Connect
Affects Versions: connect-rust-4.3.0
Reporter: Hyukjin Kwon
In PySpark Connect, {{DataFrameWriterV2.overwrite(condition)}} takes a Column
or a column name, as {{F._to_col}} does, and {{partitionedBy(col, *cols)}} a
Column or a column name of each argument, else {{NOT_EXPECTED_TYPE}} of
{{col}}, also for a list. {{tableProperty(property, None)}} leaves the property
unset.
The Rust-backed Python client raises a {{TypeError}} for a str condition of
{{overwrite}}, takes a list of columns in {{partitionedBy}}, names the argument
of its error {{cols}}, and raises a {{TypeError}} for a property of None. Take
them as PySpark does.
