Let me describe what I tried out:
1. set the hive.metastore.warehouse.dir in hive-site.xml
2. run a small sample program doing saveAsTable against spark-1.3.1. Data gets
stored in the location pointed by hive.metastore.warehouse.dir
3. run the same program against spark-1.4.0 and the data is not stored as per
the location configured in the metastore DB (DBS.DB_LOCATION_URI column)
