If we are not wanting to perform aggregation in Supervisor in the future, then
yes they could. I am not sure if it scales well to have the metrics store be
listening to every worker, so that was another reason, but perhaps that is a
case of optimizing too soon?
Not having the Supervisors involved would simplify things..
