I don't think you'll get any of the committers to work on this issue, as the
current behavior is preferred. I am going to close this issue. If you think
that such a theme would be useful, take a look at resources related to
customizing and creating your own theme. Start from the simple theme, make a
new one with the functionality you desire, then post it to a new JIRA as a
patch.
