        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Letter(s) following numerals are displayed in regular
                    font instead of italic font
    Classification: Application
           Product: Formula editor
           Version: OOo 3.3
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: ui
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
         QAContact: [email protected]

If we type the following markup:
2x
the letter x is displayed in regular font instead of italic font. But if we
type
2 x
the letter x is now displayed in italics as it should be.

Since Math markup is designed to read similar to English (whenever possible)
but since 2x and 2 x have different effects, this must be a bug.

BTW: the result shown by 2 x has too much space between 2 and x -- compare it
with something like Fx and the effect is obvious.
