Issue Type: ENHANCEMENT
Summary: Increase the height of font field drop-down list in
Symbol Editor
Classification: Application
Product: Formula editor
Version: OOo 3.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: ui
AssignedTo: [email protected]

Currently in Symbol Editor (the dialog is actually called "Edit Symbols"), the
Font field's drop-down list only provides FOUR lines. However, most modern
computers nowadays contains thirty, forty or even more available fonts
(remember OOO 3.3 itself installs already more than 20 fonts). This makes the
usage impractical.
The problem resides on the vertical scroll-bar:
with a height of four lines, the *empty space* in the scroll bar is very small
and thus hard to click on. I'm presently using a laptop and the "mouse" is a
touchpad (like more and more people today in 2011) and it's stressing to move
the cursor so accurate inside the empty space!
Let's say we are at the beginning of the list (eg Arial), and we need to jump
to the font whose name starts by S amongst a list of about 50 fonts. Well, if
we manage to click on the empty space, good and we have to click about ten
times to jump to around R or S. Or we have to press the "page down" button.
But we certainly cannot use the scroll-bar cursor because one pixel down the
bar would carry you far down the list.
In conclusion, it would be nice to increase the drop-down list height. In OOO
Write, font list is 12-line height. I think 12 lines here should be good
enough.
