what kind of failure comes with this being unimplemented? wondering if we
should really block 0.10.4 release because of this
an easy workaround makes sense if possible in a timely manner, otherwise, this
doesn't seem to be a blocker considering that data-via-events has been enabled
by default since TEZ-4115 (0.10.0), so this is not a regression
