Susan Hinrichs created TS-3307: ---------------------------------- Summary: TSVConnFdCreate does not allow non-socket file descriptors Key: TS-3307 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TS-3307 Project: Traffic Server Issue Type: Bug Reporter: Susan Hinrichs
I was experimenting writing an interceptor plugin with an event file descriptor and separate means of reading and writing the actual data. The TSVconnFdCreate call failed because the fd I passed in was not a socket. Specifically, in UnixNetVConnection::connectUp, there is an attempt to get SO_TYPE from the file descriptor. If this call falls, the connectUp fails an ultimately the TSVConnFdCreate will fail. Once I removed the failure, the rest of the plugin worked. Since sock_type is only used when setting up the socket, it isn't really an issue in the case where the fd is passed in explicitly, so I don't think this check should fail. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
