I think I have similar issue. I think it may be that the write lock is needed during the request handling. So what I did is to catch a specific URL pattern that I know for sure is going to return `Cache-Control: private` and then turn off caching completely for those patterns during the "read request" hook. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
