ATS 10.x is being tested in production environments but is not as battle hardened as 9.x. See #12225 for example, which was recently discovered in a production environment. I expect it will come down to how critical robustness is for your use-case, and whether you want to use any newer features. That said, I only know the status of 10.x second-hand.
